Volunteer Opportunity Descriptions
Book Organization
Our volunteer librarians help keep The Book Nook stocked and organized. The Book Nook helps supply books and other reading material to children throughout the Greater Dayton area.
The Boutique
As a volunteer with The Boutique, you’ll play a vital role in organizing our clothing inventory and ensuring that children in foster care have access to confidence-boosting formal wear.
BSR Program
Our BSR Program provides essential, on-the-ground support to critically ill children from around the world. To best care for these young patients, we seek multilingual volunteers and those with medical experience. Your language skills or healthcare background can make a profound impact. If you are passionate about helping children and possess either of these qualifications, we invite you to join our BSR Program.
Comfort A Child
Imagine being forced to gather your entire life into a garbage bag in just five minutes. Unfortunately, this is the heartbreaking reality for many of the children entering foster care in our community. Our Comfort a Child program offers a small comfort by providing these children with brand new duffel bags packed with essential items. Our volunteers are the heart of this program, assembling and distributing these bags to children in need.
Housekeeping
Our housekeeping volunteers are the backbone of our organization. With limited time commitments, you can make a huge difference by joining our team.
Music Lessons
Our Music Lessons for the Ages program empowers children to explore their musical passions. Volunteers share their musical expertise, providing lessons and support to young learners. We currently offer piano, guitar, and drum lessons on-site, but musicians of all instruments are encouraged to join us and inspire the next generation of artists.
Papa George & Mama Jeanne's Cooking Classes
Share your passion for cooking and empower children to learn essential kitchen skills as a volunteer instructor or kitchen aid for our Papa George & Mama Jeanne’s Cooking Classes.
Tutoring
Share your passion for education by tutoring students with us at The Betsy Hoobler Skill Center.
