When you have a family to support it can be rough trying to balance work and family life and that can be even tougher when you’re going through a rough patch. We’ve all been there, or known someone who has needed a little extra help to get through. Finding that help though, that can be tough. Luckily, Dayton’s got a lot of resources that you may not know about. At FLOC, we try to provide as many family resources as we can to the Dayton area.

Family Resources – Dayton, OH

Education

Education is one of the most important things to our organization. That’s why we provide so many family resources. Dayton is our home and we want to to make it better for all the children in our area. We provide tutoring through our Betsy Hoobler Skill Center to improve on necessary skills like reading, writing, and math. Every year we also try to provide school supplies to as many local area children as we can through Tools for School.

Childhood Resources

We believe in not just bringing the essentials to children but trying to give them the best childhood possible. We provide presents for local area children for Christmas through Christmas for Kids and and FLOCkings. Throughout the year we collect donations for our Toy Cottage as we prepare for the Holiday season. We also provide services such as the Boutique to provide prom attire and Grant a Wish to give a child the opportunity to live their dream. Many of the children we see deal with bullying as well. We’ve seen it so often that we started making a stand through FLOC Anti-Bullying. Our goal is to not only give information to parents and children through rallies but actually make a change through providing free legal action to counteract it.

Foster Care Assistance

Foster children deserve to have all of the same recognition and comforts as children outside of the system. This is why we provide foster children with duffle bags to carry their belongings through Comfort a Child and we also send out birthday cards and presents through Birthday Club. Many of these children do not know their birthday and we often step in to find this information for them. We try to stick with these children through their entire experience in the foster care system. We make sure that these children know that someone out there cares.

Your Donation Helps a Dayton Child

When you give a donation to FLOC, For Love of Children you are giving to the future of the Dayton community.

When you donate to FLOC you are providing children with a duffle bag that will stay with them on their individual journey. You let the youngest generation of Daytonians know that we care about them and that they are not alone through one of the roughest periods of their life.
