Betsy Hoobler Skill Center

What is The Betsy Hoobler Skill Center?

Tutoring is an important resource for many children struggling with academics.

The Betsy Hoobler Skill Center now offers 50+ tutors in all areas of study. Sessions are one on one with students, offered in a safe and secure and loving environment.

All of our students are thriving, and have gone up at least one letter grade. It is a very inspiring, rewarding program.

In Honor of Betsy Hoobler

Named after Beth Mann’s beloved mother, Betsy Hoobler was an English Professor at Kent State for over 30 years. She is the recipient of the Ohio Professor of the year, and of the National Professor of the year, and our Skill center honors her incredibly inspirational work.

Our tutors in The Betsy Hoobler Skill Center provide educational and individualized mentorship to area children in need of academic aid.

Help Support The Betsy Hoobler Skill Center

When you donate to For Love of Children you give the gift of education to local children that may be struggling in class.

Many schools don’t have the resources to make sure that every child will get the personalized education they need to succeed. That’s were we come in. With our team of volunteers and your donation we are able to help children see better results in the classroom and make a better future for themselves.
