With Thanksgiving creeping up on us we’re slowly inching towards the hustle and bustle of another holiday season. Halls will be decked, and boughs of holly will be in large supply as we start to get excited about what lies around the corner.
Here at FLOC we’ll be focused primarily on getting ready to deliver Christmas to thousands of children that may have otherwise missed out. So many children in need, such little time! Our Christmas for Kids program is one of our biggest and best, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to go at it again this year to help spread the joy.
Looking to help out, but can’t give time, or don’t have the extra dollars laying around to send gifts? Worry not friends, you can help deliver Christmas to children in need without even changing up your usual holiday shopping experience.
Sounds impossible, right? Well, through a program Amazon’s set up called Amazon Smile, you can do your regular shopping just as you normally would, and we’ll receive a percentage of your total as a donation from them.
What’s Amazon Smile?

Yes, it really is that easy! While browsing just like you normally would, you should see a little snippet of text on the item that denotes it as one that’s eligible to participate in the Amazon Smile program.
Amazon donates 0.5% of the purchase price of your eligible Smile purchases to the charity you’ve selected for the grand cost of $0 to you! Every little bit helps, and as anybody that’s saved a little bit of money at a time for an ongoing period can tell you, it adds up!
So what do I do?
Whether you’ve used Amazon for shopping before or not, the process is super simple! To get started either click the link here that we’ve had put together for you to automatically shop for FLOC, or visit smile.amazon.com and search for FLOC Dayton.
You’ll see a little snippet under your search bar that looks like this, which shows that you’ve done it right:
Once you’ve confirmed that spot there, you’ll just shop as you normally would! Search for whatever it is you’re looking for. When you’ve found what you’d like to buy, double check that the Amazon Smile eligible line appears as seen below.
From this point you can either continue shopping, or head on over to the checkout page to complete your order. Fill in your relevant details, select your address, all that good stuff, then hit place your order! From there you’ll be greeted with this nice little section that confirms for you that everything went through properly.
Tada! Easy as that!
